Nobody asked me but…
***The Morehouse College Class of '22 will graduate during commencement exercises this weekend, with Georgia Democratic U.S. Sen. Raphael Warnock (Morehouse Class of '91) serving as the keynote speaker!
Kudos to our newly minted Morehouse Men!
Kudos, too, to the Class of '92, one that featured a number of Brothers who were instrumental in my development on campus many years ago!
Of course, I love ALL of this!

***The Russian military is suffering massive losses due to the javelin missiles, stinger missiles, howitzers, and "smart" artillery munitions that the United States and her NATO allies have been providing since hostilities commenced this past winter.
Yes, Russia thought that they would just sprint through Ukraine in a few weeks, but now, the would be "Evil Empire 2.0” is looking more and more feckless by the day.
I like that!
***According to news reports this week, both Finland and Sweden plan to petition for NATO membership and, right on schedule, Russian Dictator Vladimir Putin is jumping up and down like Yosemite Sam from Bugs Bunny threatening to retaliate!
Cognizant that Putin's regular forces are getting their behinds kicked all across Ukraine, what, pray tell, could he really do to retaliate should NATO accept those two nations as members?
Well, grisly biological and chemical weapons—or tactical nuclear weapons, is what...
I don't like that!
***Great Britain's Prime Minister Boris Johnson pledged this week that his nation would defend Sweden if Russia chose to attack, a move that is eerily reminiscent to British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain's promise to defend Poland if Adolf Hitler's Nazi Germany attacked back in 1939.
The Guardian, a British news site, published the following cartoon today regarding PM Johnson's promise to defend Sweden…
As we all know, after Germany attacked Poland on September 1st of that year, Britian declared war (along with France) on September 3rd, and World War II was in full swing!
So, if modern Russia chooses to preemptively attack Sweden due to its mad dog dictator's belief that his nation's security is at risk, would Britain's promise to defend Sweden ignite World War III? Past precedent would suggest, "yes!"
I don't like that...
***The bipartisan congressional committee that's investigating the January 6th MAGA Riots has subpoenaed several of its fellow members, including Republican Reps. Kevin McCarthy, Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.), Scott Perry (R-Pa.), and Mo Brooks (R-Ala.), in the prelude to revealing its theory as to who gave counsel, financing, or both to the attackers who left five dead and millions of dollars in damages to the Capitol Complex in Washington, D.C.
According to The Hill: "Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), the chairman of the Jan. 6 panel, said the committee decided to issue subpoenas after the GOP lawmakers refused the opportunity to speak with the lawmakers voluntarily, noting that some of them talked with former President Trump on Jan. 6."
I like this because, come what may, politicians are not above the law and should be held accountable for their criminal or tortious acts!
***Consider the irony that during the same week that word leaked that Roe vs. Wade will soon end, a move that will force women in conservative states to have babies (or travel to abortion rights states for the procedure), that there is a shortage of baby formula across America! Not to mention that Viagra, a male erectile dysfunction enhancer, is in plentiful supply at the same time!
As I posted on Facebook last night before I retired for the evening: "America—where women and girls soon will be forced to have children in many states—but will find shortages of baby formula..."
I don't like that...
***It seems as if former Vice President Mike Pence is finding his own voice, as he has endorsed Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp in his reelection bid. Pence's former boss, President Donald Trump, fell out with Kemp in 2020 when the governor refused to give any credence to his false claims that the election had been rigged in Georgia; Trump has endorsed former Sen. David Perdue in the Republican primary, with the winner slated to take on Democrat Stacy Abrams in the general election.
I like this because the longer the Republicans batter each other in the primary, the longer Abrams has to impress Georgia voters with her immense qualifications!
***Yesterday, Ernie Barnes's iconic "Sugar Shack" painting sold for $15.3 million to Bill Perkins, an energy trader, during an auction at Christie's! Mr. Perkins was quoted in this morning's NY Times as saying that he has "been waiting his whole life to buy that work of art."
And what a work of art it is, one that came to prominence as the album cover for the late R&B superstar Marvin Gaye's 1976 album, "I Want You," one whose title track is a classic (and one of my favorite songs of all time).
I LOVE this!!!!
Thank you for subscribing to the Hobbservation Point—have a great weekend!
I LOVE THIS BRO CHUCK
Love it Chuck !!!!
