Andrew Brown was lynched by Pasquotank County deputies last month in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, of this I am certain. Actually, I was certain of it when my Morehouse Brother Bakari Sellers and Ben Crump, attorneys for the Brown family, described the coroner's preliminary report last month.
Well, I have now watched the body camera footage of the incident three times and conclude that District Attorney R. Andrew Womble's conclusion that the shooting was “justified” is utterly without merit. Even worse, Womble's conclusion is but the latest example of the wanton lack of objectivity and compassion within the ranks of far too many police forces and prosecutors offices across America.
For those with the stomach to watch it I provide the link below. For those not willing to watch yet another Black man shot and killed in real time, do know that the decedent Brown, 42, was running away from the deputies who were trying to serve warrants for drug offenses and was shot from behind.
Yes, BEHIND!
A drug warrant is not the same thing as a violent felony fugitive but somehow, police officers across America seem to be able to apprehend some heavily armed suspected murderers and terrorists, while others get shot and killed ok film. I wonder why… (full sarcasm)
The lynching footage:
With justice not being served in North Carolina, now is the time to see if the Biden Justice Department will swoop in and handle the matter in federal court?
Stay tuned…
I prefer to view evidence myself but appreciate what you have done cuz i can't look now. Sometimes i never can. 🙏
