Fighting for the "Alma Mater" on Mother's Day

First, here's hoping that all of the mother and mother figures who subscribe to Hobbservation Point are having a wonderful Mother's Day!
A group of concerned Florida A&M University alumni, known as Keepers of the Flame (KOF), have a letter circulating online opposing a MAGA incursion into the FAMU Presidential Search process that's led to Marva Johnson, a well connected Republican attorney/lobbyist with zero experience in higher education administration, to be named as one of four finalists for the position at their alma mater, Latin for “nourishing mother.”
As one who supports and has signed the KOF letter, I humbly ask that each of you take a moment to sign this letter to send a clear message to Florida MAGA Republicans that FAMU deserves better!

I signed with ZERO hesitation. The plan is that not only will the TangerineTyrant reshape our country in ways never thought of, irreparable changes will be made. The lean towards a business-run educational model is nothing new. As this method progresses, we will lose the ability to be educated in a well-rounded manner. If unchecked, I foresee that even our beloved HBCUs across the country will be led either by puppets or hamstrung by financial decisions. This is when we should protest in all legal forms and formats. They don’t have to take away our ability to learn if they dictate what we learn….
