The uncomfortable truth is that people have a hard time separating the perception of a hero/icon from the reality of who they might be. By no means am I saying that all rape/SA allegations are true (far from it). What I am saying is that people don’t think rationally when these types of allegations arise. Good people sometimes do horrible things. It’s a bitter pill to swallow for humanity, but swallow it they must. In my lifetime I investigated scores of incidents (both as a deputy sheriff and as a child abuse investigator) and one of the most chilling statements came from a suspect. He stated, “I don’t fit the mold because there isn’t one. Until society figures that out, more like me will continue to flourish.”
Very Sad and I most certainly believe the women in the article. I was a victim too as a very young child by an alcoholic cousin that had weekend access to our home but was loved by everyone because he had a good job, a good sense of humor and gave money freely to many relatives. And Yes, many women do take their sexual abuse to their graves. Be Blessed 🙌
"...because deep down inside, they fear that no one will believe them!" It is hard when you hear people defend the indefensible. You realize you will not have allies. It is a shame the one young woman needed to choose the bigger concept of the movement over disclosing what happened, especially because as he was doing such necessary work. My heart hurts for them.

Well said my Brother
Mee too. And 90% of the time the victims knows her assaulter. #1 stand with victim and survivors of sexual assault and rape.

Chuck will you please explain the difference between rape and "forceable" rape? The latter seems redundant.
It is rather redundant, but in some jurisdictions "forcible" is used to distinguish from statutory rape.
Thank you. Understood.
