B. Tomorrow evening at 7 p.m ET, I will be joined by my friend and FAMU/Bethel AME Brother Darryl Jones, Vice-Chair of the Leon County School Board, on the Season 2 premiere of the Hobbservation Point Roundtable on Facebook Live. Vice-Chair Jones and I will discuss multiple topics relating to the reopening of public schools in our area, including financial and other resources for students and families in need. And with Florida setting a record yesterday with over 21,000 newly reported Covid cases, we most certainly will have a candid chat about Florida Republican Gov. Ron Desantis and other statewide leaders’ continuing reticence to place politics aside and exercise sound policy making judgment with respect to mask wearing, social distancing, and the Covid vaccines.
