When deadbeat dad receipts chase you all around the political room
Ol' Hobbs's Thursday Thoughts!
As you may know, I was born in 1972 and throughout my 50 years of living, one of the most pervasive lies that conservatives just love to tell is that Black Fathers are shiftless, lazy, and absent from the lives of their children.
As I always say, the truth is stranger than fiction for far too many conservatives, particularly those who know that they are lying about Black fathers—but lie anyway because it stirs the racist sentiments that move so many people in their base.
What's worse is that for the right price, conservatives have always been able to "rent-a-buck," as they trot out some Black man with little discernable intelligence, no rhythm, and in desperate need of a good haircut and edge, to support the conservative canard of absentee Black Fathers being the main source of societal ills within the Black community—not systemic racism and inter-generational white supremacy!
Well, Herschel Walker is the rent-a-buck of the hour, a pawn who grins as he gladly puts a black face on old school white patriarchal racism.
Back in 2020, Walker, the 2022 Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate in Georgia, told Charlie Kirk, conservative leader of the non-profit "Turning Point," the following
“I want to apologize to the African American community, because the fatherless home is a major, major problem," later adding that he was "like a father" to so many kids in his Georgia hometown.
Translation: “I is sorry for us Colored folk, Cap'n Boss suh…” 😠
Not to be outdone, in 2021, Walker told "Diamond" and "Silk," the two quisling queens who delighted the right for their inability to distinguish conservative sh*t from "shinola," that:
"The father leaves in the Black family. He leaves the boys alone so they’ll be raised by their mom. If you have a child with a woman, even if you have to leave that woman — even if you have to leave that woman — you don’t leave that child.”
The problem, and I mean MAJOR problem, is that Herschel Walker is the WRONG Black man to criticize other Black men's fathering techniques! You see, while Walker was getting pats on the back from his white political masters and kudos for being a “good dad” to his son Christian, what those masters didn't know—but should have known—is that Walker has a couple-few "outside kids" that he is only now forced to talk about. Recently, Walker finally admitted that he has not one, but four (4) whole children; if Walker had kept his holier than thou stump speeches on Black fatherhood to himself, he wouldn’t now be caught in the conundrum that is his own daddy duty derelictions!
Ever the irrationally defiant one, Walker tried to get all indignant this week about his previously unmentioned children, saying:
"What parent would want their child in garbage, gutter politics like this? Saying I hide my children because I don't discuss them with reporters to win a campaign? That's outrageous! I can take the heat...but leave my kids alone."
No sir, Mr. Walker, all of this "heat" is solely reserved for you—not your children. This "heat" would not even be on you right now if you weren’t literally grinning and buck dancing for “Mr. Charlie” (Kirk) back in 2020 by dogging out Black fathers! But you did and, by so doing, set yourself up for the smoke you are now receiving for being an absentee father yourself!
Walker’s Georgia base has few Blacks—and he is too foolish to even ask “why”…
Now, where I agree with Walker is that relationships can be difficult between parents, and children often get caught in the middle of feuds, thus, the critical importance that men of all races stay involved in the lives of their children—even when the marital or coital relationships break up. Where I clearly disagree with Walker is in his repeated decisions to prop up racial stereotypes for those who throw racist policy stones—and hide their hands by asking, "how's that racist when good Ol’ Herschel agrees with us?"
But the key part of the previous paragraph is the phrase,"men of all races," because if you have spent any time at all at domestic violence injunction, child support enforcement, or child custody hearings in your city, you will know that those courtrooms are filled with white dads, Latino dads, Asian dads, and Black dads who have been accused of violence, monetary neglect, or abandoning their children.
Herschel Walker with the one son he always trumpeted, Christian Walker…
Conservatives willfully miss the boat on these racial facts because their gullible public prefers to believe racist lies about Black dads. Sadly, Herschel Walker lacks enough self awareness to realize that he is being used by the same racist trolls who act like “Father of the Year” candidates in public, but can be aloof (or absent) fathers, themselves, in private!
Wow...now all those white republicans can vote for this fool tool and say "see i'm not racist!" 🙄
it all comes down to black people must vote. No matter what this fool or any of the other racists do or say, 'THEY" still will support, lie for, and vote for. Our community must go vote and stand in line because the same "THEY" are going to do EVERYTHING possible to lie cheat and steal to win.
