I'm currently of the mindset that this country has to fall in order to gain humility in itself and compassion for others. I recall during Bush I, I was in Germany. Once people realized that my travel companion and I were from the U.S., they on occasion went on a tempered rant of how arrogant U.S. citizens are and how much they disliked Bush.
I'm finishing a cruise today. During a rideshare from Cadiz to Sevilla and back, I listened to our German companions ask questions about trump, his policies and the U.S. policies - healthcare, gun ownership, politics, and immigration. The world is horrified that he was able to return to the presidency but they are also laughing at the U.S.
I'm convinced that this country must fall before it becomes better. My ancestors taught us the art of resilience. I'm leaning on those lessons now.
As cliche as it may sound, God is still in control. The point that will be proven to the Bible believers that chose to vote for him will be something considerably less than expected, though.
