It feels odd to express appreciation for this post with a heart symbol. We cannot change the tragic events of history, but I hope we can find a way to use our knowledge of them to guide our actions.

It took a few tries to finish this. My daughter is Black and I had to fight like a demon to get her good healthcare and the older she got, the harder the fight became. It especially grieved me because I was treated better, and I would give anything to be able to bear her heavy burdens. To think of how it was during slavery, well, it's never going to be all right. This open wound is forever.

Yes! This is a tragic truth. I would also recommend the book Medical Apartheid by Harriet Washington for even more documentation of heinous medical crimes against our people. Thank you so much for sharing! I love your Hobbservation Points!❤️

I recalled reading something about this “doctor” a few years ago. I was horrified then, but more so now as it seems like so few people are familiar with his experimentation.
