Rest well to President Carter. Fell in love with the politician as a pre-teenager when Mrs. Rosalind Carter made a campaign stop in our small, rural hometown. Fell in love with the family upon learning further of their background and proximity of Plains, GA. A true humanitarian whose legacy shone like a maytime morn.

Indeed a President who was able to also maintain the 3 important degrees of leadership: honor, humanity and humility. Little did I know as a 5 year old making my first and only trip to the oval office, due to my Uncle working in his administration, that I was shaking the legendary hand of a leader who would carry the torch until his last breath. I can only hope some of his qualities rubbed off on me. Including honoring his wife for 75+ years. Rest In Power President Carter you did it all.

We could all wonder if his passing and knowledge of his humanity could effect more of a needed change in the new era, starting with the … and ….. in the mirror.

Or maybe we’ve forgot.

I said the same thing about his honesty and integrity in the oval. He was consistently solid and could master teach on Humanity 101. I hope that many will glean from his life and leadership!
