Oh for THIS to be model for the teaching of American History! Yet, we know it shall never be, because AmeriKKKa prefers her flaccid fantasy, to a firm probing of her reality. Continue to be that probe.

Black history is American history. I deeply lament the loss of the generational wealth and mental health as a result of the massacre. Thank you so much for your words. 🙏

Talking with my kids, I never heard about this until being an adult. Was not part of any education or discussion I can recall.

Thank you for the summary. I fear there are conservatives in this country who would try to pursue the same actions as occurred in Tulsa in similar circumstances.

An article in the WaPo this week noted that Germany has gone to great lengths to acknowledge and make reparations for its inhumane deeds of the 1930s-1940s (my mother-in-law for example receives monetary reparations from Germany). The USA has not fully admitted it’s sins against either Native Americans or African Americans, let alone tried to assist those who remain disadvantaged from past government-sanctioned inhumane acts. It is past time for Americans to make peace with one another and to make efforts to assist those who suffer from past and present racist actions.
