"The celebrity froth on the political cauldron." Love it! I do have a concern Chuck with feeling the same angst centered around the narrative that Vance promulgated in his book Hillbilly Elegy. I posited that many were ignoring the palpable fear of "loss" the WASP were feeling with the changing demographics of this country. Trump seized on it. People vote with their pocketbooks and the entrenched inflation since the Pandemic, the embedded misogyny of far too many men regarding women as leaders, and the lack of sorority amongst female voters (see Hillary Clinton) doesn't make her victory a lock. Trump's incandescent ineptitude, even after serving a term as President, is more glaring and his obsession with authoritarianism is a real existential threat to this republic. Standby

Absolutely, my Brother! We sometimes get so caught up in the bickering that we don't 'hear" some of the issues of our ideological opponents. And if we're not careful, the issues are still there, even if the bad guy who is exploiting those issues has gone away.

I follow a black guy on FB who studied philosophy and has amassed eclectic followers. He just posited that now is the safest time to let a Republican back in the White House because Trump is a known entity. He’s not worried about fake electors nor Project 2025. His followers’ comments brought out just as many anti Harris as it did pro Harris but not any pro Trump sentiments. I found this comment disturbing and interesting…

trump is about to win, and even though I don’t like him, I am also aware that he is actually the lesser of two evils.

All of this nonsense about trump becoming dictator, along with the jan 6th psyop run by the fbi, etc…it is insane how people cannot see how our system is being weaponized by the very people who claim trump will do that.

There is hardly daylight between trump and harris on material issues, except maybe trump will oversee more peace than war, which harris clearly has no interest or ability to end…and democrats push for wars even harder than republicans these days. Whoever wins, I predict that trump will still live rent free in your head. Watch democrats win, and then keep blaming trump for everything despite him not even having any power. Democrats have become absolutely pathetic.

Seems to me as if he can't make up his mind --at one point it's "Trump will win" and at the other, "Watch Democrats win and keep blaming Trump..." Double mindedness is unstable 😂

My bad Chuck. That quoted comment was from one of his mindfulness hippy dippy “politically aware” followers. I should have clarified what I found troubling: more than 1 commenter agreed there was not much difference between VP Harris and Trump policy wise and who backs them - Black Rock/Vanguard: Harris and MAGA Inc and other PACs. Both candidates were selected and can be “controlled”….

The GOP’s rhetoric, under Trump’s shadow, has devolved into a relentless attack on every marginalized group, an unyielding propaganda machine fueling bigotry, fear, and division. This is not a party interested in debate or disagreement; it’s a machine for amplifying resentment and stoking hatred.

Knowing who is going to win is probably based on who one reads. I predict it will end as Trump v. Harris in the Supreme Court. And I am someone who reads (watches) MSNBC, FoxNews, CNN, PBS, C-Span, etc. 😩 All of them as I have for the past 30 years.

Does that make me special? NO! Few predictions ever make good. Capitalism makes the narrow races we have had this century - not the people. Corporate media makes this chaotic and controversial and messy and feeds peoples fear and addictions. What seems to one as true seems the opposite to the other. That is by design.
